Meet the Doctor


Pediatric Dentist Nakako Uritani, DDS

Dr. Uritani was born in Japan and grew up in the Bay Area. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology from Cornell University in New York. She then returned to California where she worked as a bioinformatics software consultant traveling around the world. After developing an interest in dentistry, she worked as a research associate in the dental biomaterials laboratory at UCSF and earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at University of Pacific School of Dentistry where she was inducted into the Tau Kappa Omega Dental Honors Society. She then received her certificate in the specialty of Pediatric Dentistry at the Lutheran Medical Center program in Hawaii where she treated children in underserved areas of Oahu and the Big Island.

Dr. Uritani is a board certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the American Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

She and her husband have two young children, a boy and a baby girl. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, dance aerobics, yoga, and reading.
